🌸 About our collaborator, Mama_Speech

Mama_speech (aka Alex 🥰) is a mama to 3 little girls, a homemaker, and a part time speech therapist, by day. Alex enjoys finding and sharing ways to romanticize days at home, specifically as a mom with littles who’s riding the waves of motherhood everyday. Over the years, Alex has developed a true love for homemaking, home-decorating, and flower pressing. Three years ago, during a very trying time, when the mental burnout of working full time plus the sadness and guilt of feeling like she was missing out on all of her children’s life moments, Alex found herself in one of the lowest moments of her life, struggling to find contentment, direction, and joy. And what initially started as a hobby- when she was gifted her first flower press for her birthday- quickly turned into a lifeline.

Flower pressing became a form of therapy, encouraging her to engage in discernment and reflection. It became a form of art that inspired joy and creativity. A moment of self-care, which she realized she hardly ever allowed herself time for in her season of motherhood. Pressing flowers is a slow and gradual process. And by nature, it really forced her to slow down, during a time in her life that felt so rushed and overwhelming. Alex, since, has become passionate about sharing her love of flower pressing, not from the perspective of an expert but simply as a mom who needed an outlet and discovered so much joy in the world of flower preservation. She enjoys making pressed flower gifts and cards that are handmade, personal, and unique in the hopes that they bring others a sense of joy and care.
