Mindful Makers Class

What to Expect

In collaboration with The Studio and Memorial School art teacher, Ms. Manalili, Mindful Makers offers a calm, supportive space where children can slow down, express themselves, and build confidence through art.

Blending creativity with social-emotional learning, students explore their feelings, take creative risks, and feel proud of their work—without pressure to be perfect. The goal is to support both the artist and the individual, helping each child feel seen and inspired.

❋ Mindful Makers: Ages 7–11

Finding the Glimmers

Ages 7–11
August 19 | 4:00–5:00 PM

As a new school year begins, let's create something that reminds us to notice the good.

In this special Mindful Makers workshop, young artists will learn foundational painting techniques—including how to mix their own paint colors and experiment with texture—while decorating a wooden keepsake "Glimmer Box."

Together we'll explore the idea of glimmers—the small moments of joy, kindness, accomplishment, and gratitude that brighten our everyday lives. Each child will be encouraged to continue filling their keepsake box throughout the school year with notes, memories, drawings, ticket stubs, or tiny treasures that remind them of happy moments.

This workshop is about more than painting—it's about building mindfulness, creativity, and a habit of celebrating life's little moments.

What's Included:

  • All art materials and supplies

  • Step-by-step guided instruction

  • A wooden keepsake "Glimmer Box" to decorate and take home

  • A special "Glimmer Challenge" card to inspire children to continue using their box throughout the school year

No prior art experience is needed—just bring your creativity!
